The counter, in plain words.
The words people search for before they know what to search for: what a KOT is, what KDS means, what the card machine is actually called. Each entry gives the definition in one paragraph, then what the thing looks like on a real floor, then where it sits in the POS.
The terms
Three words, defined
Short on purpose. Each entry is written to answer the question in the first paragraph, and to be right.
KOT
A KOT, or kitchen order ticket, is the record of one order sent from the front of a restaurant to the kitchen: the items, the table or token, the time and the server. Traditionally a printed slip; on a modern POS it is digital, routed to each kitchen station and linked to the bill.

A KDS, or kitchen display system, is a screen in the kitchen that shows incoming orders as a live queue instead of printing them. Each ticket carries a timer, can be marked done dish by dish, and can be routed to the station that cooks it. It replaces the KOT printer, not the KOT.

An EDC machine, for electronic data capture, is the card machine at a shop or restaurant counter: the terminal a customer taps, dips or swipes a card into, which also accepts UPI. Shopkeepers call it the card machine or swipe machine; banks and payment companies call it a PoS terminal. It takes payments and does nothing else.

Why these three, and why here
These are the three terms people search for most on their way to a POS decision, and none of them is obvious from the letters. KOT is a restaurant word. KDS is a kitchen word. EDC is a banking word that has ended up on every shop counter in the country. A shop owner meets all three in the same week they start looking for a billing machine.
Every entry links to the product page where the term becomes a feature: KOT routing in DINO, the kitchen display, and EDC integration, where the card machine takes its amount from the bill instead of a keypad. Terms are added when the search data shows a question that has no plain answer on the site; there is no target count.
