Queue busting with a handheld mPOS: the 2026 guide

Every shop hits the same wall at peak hour: the counters are fine for twenty hours a day and drowning for four. Queue busting fixes the four hours without buying counters for them. Here is how it works, and what the handheld device actually needs.

Why queues are a revenue problem, not a patience problem

A queue looks like an inconvenience. On the P&L it is a leak. Some customers see the line and do not join it; some join it, wait, and put the basket down; and the ones who stay are having their worst moment in your store at the exact point you want them thinking about coming back. What the device must have

Queue busting fails on cheap hardware in predictable ways, so check the spec sheet against the job:
